This week we have been working hard on our Literacy skills, learning about adjectives; this in turn has helped us to write about 'The Thing' from our focus book - 'Emily Brown and the Thing'.
In Maths we have focused again on place value, particularly recognising, reading and writing numbers.
During our afternoons we have started to learn about the differences between past and present day London, ready for finding out about The Great Fire of London. This has become our song of the week.
A huge welcome to all our new children who made a fantastic start this week. We would also like to commend our year 2's on helping them to settle in. The children have been a joy to work with and our first visitor to the classroom this week commented on their excellent behaviour and learning attitude. We have also seen the introduction of two bears this week - they will accompany children home on a weekly basis (on a Friday). Please could you tell us a little bit about your weekend, perhaps including a drawing or photograph, and return to school on Monday.
We have still found lots of time though to play with our friends, old and new.
