The RSPB Birdwatch 2026

Following our participation in the Big Schools’ Birdwatch, Reception and KS1 pupils showed great enthusiasm and curiosity about the birds they observed in our school grounds. The children shared thoughtful ideas about how we could continue this learning and suggested creating a quiet bird-watching area with a bird hide and binoculars. This would provide a calm, reflective space for pupils to observe wildlife, develop environmental awareness and support wellbeing. The Friends of the School (FoRS) have raised funds so are able to purchase a bird hide and equipment to bring this pupil-led idea to life.
