Ruswarp Church of England Primary School Think for Yourself and Act for Others

Autumn 1

20.9.21

Click here for today's Y1 maths video and here for year 2 find the worksheet below.

For Literacy today, please read a traditional tale with your child and ask them to retell you the story. Please encourage detail and not just a quick overview. Then ask them to write sentences to retell the story. Please emphasise the use of capital letters and full stops. For year 2 please remind them that Proper nouns (names) need capital letters. It is essential this year that we build up larger pieces of text in sustained writing.

Please find additional resources here for handwriting and spelling. Year 1 are working on the letters: c, a, d, o, g & q. For year 1 please use lined paper if possible and encourage letters to sit on the lines. Year 2 are working on making sure that the letters b, d, h, k, l, t, are all taller than the other letters.

14.9.21

Please click here for today's maths video and then the worksheet is below (if you don't have access to a printer, then you could use objects (coins etc. to simulate the counters), then you could take photos of the work and send back to me through Dojo).

For Literacy, please could you access the video found here and work on forming the following letter in cursive (all letters start on the line and are formed in one fluid movement). o and revisit c, a, d.

Using your story map from yesterday, ask your child to write a sentence for each picture, please remind them about capital letters and full stops (spelling at this stage should be phonetically plausible (i.e. how they sound it out), so please don't correct them.

Again, please send any work back photographed through the Dojo system.
