'Fun' afternoon with parents in class (11/11/16)

Week Beginning 7th November 2016

During this week we have been learning about 2D shapes in maths and have had great fun making shapes with elastic bands. We have been writing about the story of the BfG and drawing some pictures. Our work is on display in the classroom, please have a look. We have also been reading the story of Elmer and discussing our emotions this week, in particular recognising how some things can make people feel different.

Our parents/grandparents and friends also came in on Friday afternoon, so in the morning we made some Frobscottle for them to drink and some Snozzcumber Cake as well as some lucky dip cakes, which were flavoured with strawberry, mint or lemon. We had a brilliant afternoon.

Week Beginning 31st October 2016

Today was the start of our new topic 'Magical Me'. We have started to learn about people being unique and all having things that are special to us. Our writing this half term will be focused on the BFG by Roald Dahl. We have been busy making dream jars, it was hard work getting the salt a bright colour.

As it was also bonfire night this week we made some firework crafts, pictures and biscuits.

Week Beginning 17th October 2016

This week we have been learning about Autumn. We went on a nature walk so that we could find describing words for things that we could see, smell, hear and touch. We then used these words in our writing. While we were out we heard some birds singing, so we decided to make some fat balls for them to eat. We also made some mobiles for our classroom using leaves and other things we found on our walk.

Week beginning 10th October 2016

Today we have been learning about number bonds to ten and writing number sentences. Here are some examples of our work.
