Ruswarp Church of England Primary School Think for Yourself and Act for Others

Pupil Reps

Ruswarp School's Pupil Reps

The Pupil Reps will meet fortnightly with Miss Brown and discuss school issues.

The role of a Ruswarp Pupil Rep is to represent your classes’ views and ideas.

This may include:

  • How to raise money through school events and what this should be spent on
  • Designing and reviewing school rules
  • Discussing any issues in school including behaviour, safety and wellbeing
  • Thoughts and feedback on our school curriculum including trips and visits
  • Welcoming visitors into school and showing them around
  • Feeding back to your class information about the meetings and bringing to the meetings any issues raised in class

Following our class elections, here are our Pupil Reps Committee:

Olly, Hannah, Rhodri, Isla, Mollie, Elizabeth, Phoebe, Megan, Seth, Jacob

Our brand new Pupil Reps committee had their first meeting this week. We discussed the role of the Pupil Rep and talked about some of the activities they would like to do as part of their role during the year. This includes: deciding fundraising events and causes, after school clubs, our school curriculum and pupil views, making community links and projects, keeping safe and any other local, community or global issues our Reps may want to engage with! During our first meeting, we talked about Dojo prizes for the child in each class that receives the highest number of Dojos per half term. The Pupil Reps agreed that they would really like it if the winner could choose an afternoon treat for their class. They thought the winner deserved to choose the treat, but this means that the whole class will enjoy it too – reflecting our school vision of course!  (‘Think for Yourself and Act for Others…). The Reps felt that the Dojo winner could also receive a badge and certificate in recognition of their achievement! It was a great first meeting and the Pupil Reps are going to make a fantastic contribution to Ruswarp.
